Bail was refused for a Burnham man charged with a series of burglaries and theft in the Selwyn area, when he appeared in the Christchurch District Court today.
Luke Alexander Reich, 21, unemployed, was arrested at the weekend on six charges, and police say more charges may be laid. They opposed his release on bail.
Reich is charged with two house burglaries at Burnham and one at Rolleston, unlawfully interfering with two cars at Burnham, and stealing $150 cash at Burnham.
The charges allege offending in December and February.
Reich has entered no pleas and was remanded in custody to appear in court by video-link from Christchurch Men’s Prison on March 3.
He applied for bail but the application was heard and refused by Judge Tony Couch.
